Charleston Southern’s Aeronautics program is the first and currently the only program of its kind at any South Carolina university. This program offers you the amazing opportunity to pursue your dream of becoming a professional pilot. With engaging courses and hands-on training, your dream of earning a Federal Aviation Administration Private Pilot certification is that much closer. After being certified by this program, you will be equipped to pursue a career as an airline pilot, commercial/contract pilot, flight instructor, and more.

Aeronautics

Become a world-class professional aviator in one of the three aeronautics degree programs at Charleston Southern University! In these programs you will study aircraft operations, flight safety, aircraft systems, aerodynamics, meteorology, and more, all while earning your pilot certification. The aeronautics – professional pilot degree is the first and only collegiate program in South Carolina.
