CSU's First-Ever EdD Graduation Ceremony

Celebrate with us as we recognize the first doctoral graduates of Charleston Southern University! On December 11, 2021, 23 professionals from various career industries will receive a hood, degree, and a new title.

The full video will be available for download after the graduation events and sent to all CSU graduates.


Preparing for Graduation

  1. The required rehearsal is Friday, December 10 at 4 p.m. Please meet us in the chapel.
  2. Bring your hood to the rehearsal. We will put them on a table on the stage to present to you on Saturday.
  1. You must report to the Charleston Room- i.e., the cafeteria at 1 p.m. on graduation day.
  2. Do not bring purses or bags.
  3. Please wear dress shoes. No jeans or tennis shoes.
  4. Everyone (including guests) must wear a mask in the chapel. Graduates will be given a special mask when they arrive at 1 p.m.
  5. After the ceremony, graduates will stay in their seats as the stage guests and the graduates’ guests leave the chapel. There will be cake, water, and lemonade for your families outside near the pond. Graduates will stay in the chapel for group pictures.
