Wannamaker County Park trail

Right down the road from Charleston Southern University is Wannamaker County Park that includes boat
and bike rentals, running trails, a dog park and other fun outdoor activities.

Park admission is only $2, and the convenience is hard to pass up for students. The park is within walking distance from campus for students who don’t have a car, but there is parking for those who want to drive some friends over.

Wannamaker is a Charleston County Park, and the it opens every day at 8 a.m. and closes at sunset September-April or 8 p.m. in the summer. The affordability of admission allows students the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors in a safe and fun environment.

Some students hang hammocks up by the lake and read or study for class. It is a healthy and cheap option for students looking for something to do near campus. In the summertime, the park also opens their waterpark, and if you go after 3 p.m., admission is only $12.99.

If CSU students want to buy an annual pass, they can get $10 off using their CSU ID and address.
