Kathleen Williams

Kathleen Williams is an assistant professor in the College of Nursing. She received the Bachelor of Science in nursing and Master of Science in community health nursing from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of the Post-MSN program in nursing informatics at Duke University School of Nursing in Durham, North Carolina and is ANCC Board Certified as an informatics nurse. Professor Williams is a doctoral candidate in the PhD in Nursing Education program at Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania with a research interest in the impact of electronic immunization records and pediatric immunization status. She currently teaches at the undergraduate and graduate levels at CSU with professional expertise in informatics, leadership, research, ethics, health policy and community/public health.

Professor Williams is a member of the American Nurses Association, the South Carolina Nurses Association, National League for Nursing (NLN) and has served as a chapter board member (student counselor) of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, Gamma Omicron At-Large Chapter. She has presented on the topic of healthcare informatics at the local, regional, national and international levels and has published several articles and chapters in the areas of informatics and home health. Professor Williams is also a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve (Nurse Corps) with specialties in medical-surgical and community health nursing.
