Captain Atlanta P. Whittington is the Recruiting Officer for the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 772 in support of Charleston Southern University, headquartered at Air Education and Training Command, Maxwell AFB, AL.  In this capacity, she is responsible the training and mentoring of 47 officer candidates to graduate and enter the Air or Space Force as 2nd Lieutenants. 

Captain Whittington entered the Air Force in 2018, commissioning through Reserve Officer Training Corps from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  After commissioning, she was assigned to F. E. Warren AFB, WY, where she served in various roles within the Logistics Readiness Squadron and the Mission Support Group. Following F. E. Warren, Captain Whittington transitioned to Joint Base Charleston, SC where she managed the Fuels Management Flight for 628^th Logistics Readiness Squadron and deployed to Al Udeid AB, Qatar, as the Materiel Management Flight Commander. Most recently, Captain Whittington served as the Operations officer for the 437^th Aerial Port Squadron at Joint Base Charleston, where she led daily cargo and passenger operations for AMC’s premier C17 fleet.
