CREDENTIALS
Ph.D.
I was born and raised in Taiwan in 1968 and graduated from National Central University. After completing my military service, I decided to pursue a Ph.D. and moved to the United States to study at the University of Florida. Upon graduating, I was hired by Charleston Southern University. Nowadays, I dedicate most of my time to teaching, and on weekends, I preach at a Chinese church in South Carolina.
I believe in what 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.”
I put this passage deeply in my heart. If one cannot repent from his wrong doings, he will not be accepted by God and will not have eternal life. To repent, you need to study Bible, memorize and convert the words to actions.
This passage clearly says that God wants to work with human. God can put all his words in a book all by Himself by rather than doing it this way, He inspired Scripture writers to write down His Words to help human know Him, and make Him known. God is always seeking for those who are looking for righteousness and are willing to do His good work.
I believe in the Trinity, that God exists as a Three-in-One being as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. I believe the three persons of the Godhead worked together in the Creation and they still work together to bring the Salvation to the world. Just like what John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” I believe the Holy Spirit is among us, helping us doing his work and making decisions as what Jesus promised in John 15:26, “When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me.”
Your Purpose. Our Mission.
At Charleston Southern University, educating students goes beyond simply imparting knowledge; it involves fostering their spiritual growth as well. As the Director of Graduate Studies in Computer Science, I have the honor of interacting with many international students. I understand the challenges they face, as I too encountered difficulties as an international student before joining CSU. Moving to a new country can lead to homesickness, and students may struggle with resources, such as needing a new laptop for programming assignments or lacking transportation after evening classes. I am committed to supporting them as much as possible. In doing so, I strive to demonstrate the compassion of Jesus and explain that my efforts are inspired by the profound impact He has had on my life.
