Mrs. Karen Arnold is currently an Assistant Professor of Nursing and has been teaching at the CSU College of Nursing since 2013. Mrs. Arnold earned her B.S. in Biology from the College of Charleston (1995) and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Nursing (1999). She received her Master of Science in Nursing Education from Charleston Southern University (2010). She is currently pursuing her EdD in Leadership at Charleston Southern with an anticipated graduation date in 2022.
Mrs. Arnold has been a Registered Nurse for over 20 years. Her nursing career experience includes emergency nursing, clinical education, and nursing education. She has worked as a staff nurse and clinical educator for emergency services, taught in an LPN program, and worked as a system wide nurse educator in staff development. Currently, she teaches medical-surgical courses within the undergraduate nursing program. Her research interests include use of simulation technology in nursing education, inter-professional education, and the transition to practice for new graduate nurses.

I sincerely believe that God has called me to be a nurse educator and I am honored to be able to live out that calling by teaching at CSU. I am part of a team of dedicated nurse faculty who teach, guide, mentor, and prepare students for professional practice as registered nurses. We are all committed to helping our students succeed in achieving their goals.
