CSU, Big South suspend all athletics-related activities until March 30

By CSU Media | March 13, 2020

The Charleston Southern Athletic Department and the Big South Conference today announced that all competition and required athletics activities have been suspended through at least March 30 to mitigate the further spread of the COVID-19 virus.

All Charleston Southern sporting events involving each of its 16 varsity sports programs, home and away, have been canceled through March 30. Additionally, all team practices and workouts have been suspended at this time and will be re-evaluated in the near future.

The decision was made by the league’s Council of Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) with consultation from the Council of Athletics Directors to protect the health and well-being of student-athletes, coaches, staff and fans.

The CEOs shall again convene in the near future to evaluate activities beyond March 30, including the status of the Conference Championships.
