CSU Drive-In
It’s a Friday night at the CSU Drive-In! Back in the 1930s, drive-ins emerged as an alternative to cramped indoor movie theaters. In the 1950s and 60s, they became a family-friendly destination and a date night alternative for couples. VCRs and Netflix led to the decline of the drive- ins. But now, nostalgia is fueling their comeback. A stream of bright lights cuts through the darkening twilight in an open, grassy field here on campus. As cars line up in front of a giant movie screen and buttery popcorn shifts from eager fingers to crunching mouths in the back of one pickup truck, while others gather on a blanket spread on the grass. Even the laughter of others carries back to the line at the concessions stand. Join us at this nostalgic Sweet 16 event.
