The emphasis in administration and supervision (elementary or secondary) prepares educators to become certified educational administrators. The rigorous and relevant coursework and internships prepare students for the challenging – and rewarding – role of working as an educational leader.

Students will study various concepts including supervision of instruction, how to be an effective mentor, current trends in school leadership and many others that will empower the next generation of school leaders. Successful completion of all program requirements leads to South Carolina certification as a principal and supervisor.

The fast-track Master of Education in elementary and secondary school administration and supervision offers: an accelerated program with innovative scheduling of courses to meet the needs of classroom teachers and coaches.  This course of study completed 100% online along with an internship at an accredited school.

One of the hallmarks of our administration and supervision program is the opportunity to learn from seasoned educational leaders who, over the course of their respective careers, have served in a multitude of school leadership roles. Thus, the leadership student has the opportunity to study and consider numerous viewpoints and perspectives on what it means to be a caring, competent, effective leader in education.

The Master of Education in physical education and sport coaching program is designed primarily for physical education teachers and athletic coaches who want to further their knowledge to impact and influence students and peers.

The master’s in physical education and sport coaching is offered 100% ONLINE and provides opportunities for current physical education teachers to enhance their skills in teaching and provides an avenue for new coaches to understand the role sport coaches play in the development of young athletes. Students will explore sport law and ethics, strength and conditioning programming and sport psychology, along with sport science and research related to teaching and coaching for all ages and skill levels. The role of physical education teachers and sport coaches is steadily changing. Youth league and scholastic level coaches are now facing the prospect of specialization in one sport including year-round skill development and games. College coaching has shown an increase in the need for specialized coaching practices, especially by newer coaches and assistant coaches, to develop particular aspects of players to fit their role on the team. As the obesity epidemic continues to grow in America, the emphasis that physical education teachers place on skill development in fitness is also growing, as demonstrated in the SHAPE America National Standards and Grade-Level Outcomes. This program will equip students to become strength and conditioning coaches, college coaches, youth and K-12 coaches, physical education department chairs, etc.
