Thousands of children and teens participated in more than a dozen camps at Charleston Southern University this summer.

MFuge, a missions-based summer camp sponsored by LifeWay, was the largest camp that brought more than 2,600 campers in seven weeks. Each week, campers served the community at mission sites across the Charleston area. There were 86 salvations, 151 rededications and 17 ministerial vocation callings.

CSU’s criminal justice department hosted its eighth CSI camp for a week in June, with 42 campers and 17 agencies participating. Topics included traffic stops, SWAT active shooter building searches, arson investigation, firearm/ballistic investigations, fingerprints, photography, drone patrol, air patrol, narcotics and more!

Music camps, hosted by CSU’s Horton School of Music, brought close to 500 campers. CSU coaches hosted various sports camps, in baseball, basketball, football, soccer and volleyball – a combined total of 150 participants. And, seven students from Taiwan attended CSU for a three-week ESL camp.

Other camps included:

  • The Summerville Baptist Church children’s choir
  • SC Lions Club
