Marketplace Ministries Institute to host free leadership webinar

Charleston Southern University’s College of Business and Whitfield Center for Christian Leadership Marketplace Ministries Institute will host a webinar for business and church leaders on Wednesday, June 17 from noon to 1:30 p.m. called “Stewarding Influence and Technology in the New Marketplace.”

Two national marketplace ministry experts, Mike Sharrow of C12 Group and Lee Truax of FCCI, will present with moderators Dr. David Palmer, dean of the College of Business, and Doug Hunter of the Whitfield Center for Christian Leadership.

Mike Sharrow, CEO of C12 Group, will address the “how” and “why” of stewarding your influence with lawmakers at every level – especially as decisions are being made that will reshape our culture and economy. “Stewardship implies accountability, yet as Christian business leaders it is easy to reduce it to mere financial disciplines,” Sharrow said. “One of the greatest assets we have in business is influence. How does the gospel compel business leaders to engage in the public square, to practice civil stewardship and by virtue of faithful engagement unleash a new frontier of discipleship for those around us?” Sharrow added that he will encourage participants to consider how they can provide faithful stewardship in their respective industries as salt and light. 

President of the Fellowship of Companies for Christ International (FCCI) Lee Truax will draw from his extensive background to discuss using technology to advance the marketplace movement for Christ. In an environment where we have been forced to utilize technological tools and platforms in ways we would never have anticipated just a few months ago, Truax will identify strategic ways to apply cutting-edge technology in the most accessible, contextual, relevant and authentic ways possible for the greatest corporate and Kingdom impact.
