While Charleston Southern University is proceeding with board charge rebates for the spring 2020 semester, we are unable to finalize the room charge rebate process until we receive governmental guidance regarding proper distribution of federal funds. We will post additional details as soon as they are available and will provide any room charge rebates soon thereafter.

Yes. Board rebates will be available toward any charges incurred in the next term in which a student enrolls (summer or fall 2020). They do not have to apply just to future room and board charges.

Yes. As is the case in all major semesters, any commuter dining dollars remaining at the end of the term will be applied back to the student’s account. If a credit balance of greater than $75 results, a refund check will be automatically issued after the end of the term. If a credit balance of $75 or less results, you may request a refund check be processed by contacting student_accounts@csuniv.edu.

Students who have been granted an exception to stay in campus housing for the remainder of the semester will not receive the board rebate. Students who do not return to live in campus housing following the extended spring break will receive the board rebate regardless of their move-out date.

There will be no reimbursement for charges or fees, other than those outlined for room and board charges. Instruction will continue online, and resources are being reallocated to accommodate the many changes brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

There are no refunds for tuition. Instruction is moving online for the remainder of the semester. Accommodations are being made to allow completion of all courses.

Income from the graduation fee is used to offset the various expenses related to commencement. Although commencement will not be held May 9, it has not been canceled. Completion fees will be reallocated to the expenses related to virtual commencement as well as future events being planned to honor our 2020 graduates.

Rebates for room and board will first be applied to any outstanding student account balances. Payment plans will then be adjusted following the application of these credits. Students will be billed for the remainder of the payments due on their payment plans following these adjustments.

Absolutely. We understand these are uncertain times and that many students and families may find it difficult to pay their student account right now. Please pay what you can as you are able. We are waiving late fees on payment plans through June to assist families with flexible payment needs.
