Spotlight on Dr. Zakrzewski: A champion for future educators and young learners

By Julie Fernandez | November 5, 2024

Dr. Zakrzewski, a beloved Associate Professor of education in the CSU College of Education, has impacted our college by guiding teaching candidates on technology pedagogy and nurturing their emotional well-being. Her dedication to holistic education, where both skill and heart matter, sets her apart as a true advocate for the next generation of educators. With a focus on connecting the college to the broader community, Dr. Zakrzewski is a key leader in our partnership with Read for the Record. In this initiative, CSU faculty, staff, and leadership joined to read books to children at College Park Elementary School. Her commitment to literacy and community engagement creates an inspiring experience for young students, sparking a love for reading and learning.

In addition to her work with Read for the Record, Dr. Zakrzewski leads our teaching candidate retention program, creating spaces for celebration, encouragement, and connection. Through her thoughtfully organized parties and events, she fosters an inclusive community that supports and uplifts our future educators. Dr. Zakrzewski’s heartfelt reminder, “You can do hard things,” has become a motto for many of her teaching candidates as they navigate the demands of becoming skilled, compassionate teachers. Our college is grateful for Dr. Zakrzewski’s unwavering commitment to empowering our community’s future educators and young students. Her passion and dedication are a source of strength and inspiration for everyone she meets.
