Campus Wide

Latest response to COVID-19 | March 20

By Jenna Johnson | March 20, 2020

On Monday afternoon, March 23, CSU will release a statement regarding plans for the remainder of this semester. That statement will be made following a Monday meeting with other private universities in our state. Please monitor campuswide emails, text message alerts, BucNation app, the CSU website and social media for the latest, accurate information.

Due to the rapidly changing situation, students should not make irrevocable travel commitments at this time. At this point, any resumption of face-to-face classes on campus would begin no sooner than Tuesday, April 14, if at all. The safety of our students, faculty, staff and those most at risk is of utmost importance, and we will give the CSU Family ample notice if it appears we can safely return to normal operations this semester.

“Students, faculty and staff have stepped up to the challenge of online instruction in impressive ways already. They are doing what they always do—pressing ahead with confidence in the Lord. We are grateful for the dedication of our faculty and staff to provide teaching excellence and extra-mile service to our students. And we applaud our students for making the most of this opportunity on the path to graduation. The campus is not the same without them, and we look forward to welcoming them back as soon as it’s safe to do so,” CSU President Dondi Costin said.

Please continue to follow the CDC’s recommendations for social distancing and hygiene, as well as the CSU Health Resources page for updates and helpful tips.

As a reminder, MUSC Health offers free Coronavirus Virtual Health Screening. Though there are no COVID-19 cases on the CSU campus, we encourage anyone showing signs of COVID-19 to use the screening.
