2024 Fall Commencement Updates

By CSU Media | September 5, 2024

Dear Students,

We hope you are enjoying the start of a beautiful fall semester at Charleston Southern University! Even though we just started this semester, we are looking forward to December because we’re bringing Fall Commencement back. It has been more than a decade since we’ve held this special event for our graduates. As announced in the spring, this allows our Summer 2024 and Fall 2024 graduates to walk the stage at the end of this semester rather than wait until next May. Eligible students have until Friday, November 1, 2024 to apply for Fall graduation.

Master’s and doctoral candidates will graduate on Thursday, December 19 at 5 p.m., and undergraduates will graduate on Friday, December 20 at 10 a.m. Both ceremonies will be in our iconic Lightsey Chapel. Please note that the Department of Physician Assistant Studies and the Department of Physical Therapy will hold separate Commencement ceremonies on Saturday, December 14. The EdD program will be included in the graduate Commencement on December 19.

The Commencement Committee, in discussion and coordination with the Student Government Association, will offer one ceremony for our undergraduates with eight tickets per graduate. Additional tickets may be available, and we will announce ticket registration in the coming weeks. Information for the commencement will be updated on the 2024 Graduation page.

We are excited to bring this tradition back into fruition, and we cannot wait to celebrate with our grads just in time for the Christmas season!
