I was born and raised in Moncks Corner, SC. I have a BSN from the Medical University of South Carolina and Masters of Science from Michigan State University. As a registered nurse, I worked in hospitals, doctor’s offices, and home health. My favorite area was labor and delivery.
My husband and I met in Sunday School at the First Baptist Church Moncks Corner. A few months after my husband and I married, we moved to Okinawa, Japan, while he worked for the Army Corps of Engineers. Being married to an engineer has allowed me to live in cities like Greenville, SC, Lexington, KY, and Orlando, FL. We also spent 5 years in Easley, SC while my husband attended Clemson University for graduate school. After 14 years of marriage, my husband accepted a teaching position at his alma mater, The Citadel. There, we had the privilege of living on The Citadel campus for 17 years. Also, this allowed us to raise our children on campus. We have a son adopted from Bulgaria and two daughters adopted from China. While my children were in school, I worked part time jobs at The Citadel, such as the Financial Aid Office, Honors Program, and Daniel Library.
At this point in my life, I have come full circle. My husband has retired from The Citadel. We now live in Moncks Corner next to the home I grew up in. I am very thankful to work at CSU as an Operations Assistant in the Hunter Center.
