She began her career in 2004 after graduating with her Associates Degree in Nursing from Trident Technical College. In 2014 she pursued her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Kaplan University and in 2015 she earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University.
Tabitha is a Progressive Care Certified Nurse and a Stroke Certified Nurse. She holds a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma and is certified by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. She has served as a member of the Roper St Francis Healthcare Clinical and Research Excellence Council since 2015 and is currently Chair of the Council.
In 2016, she went on to lead the Roper St. Francis Healthcare Stroke Program which focuses on educating nurses and ensuring the utmost quality of care is provided to the stroke patient population. Under her leadership, the Stroke Program had many successful Joint Commission survey visits resulting in recertification.
In 2020, Tabitha felt a tug on her heart to consider teaching. Following prayer and a desire to be obedient to God’s calling she pursued a teaching position here at Charleston Southern University and became an Adjunct Faculty Clinical Instructor in 2021. Shortly after, she realized that this is right were God wants her to be. She is eager to be able to share her love, compassion and experience of God’s love and nursing here in the College of Nursing department.
Your Purpose. Our Mission.
Working at Charleston Southern means having the ability to share my love, compassion, and experience of God’s love and nursing via the same platform. I am so thankful that Charleston Southern University chose me to be a part of this beautiful school.
