Monitoring winter weather

Charleston Southern University is monitoring possible inclement weather conditions for tomorrow, January 21. The National Weather Service currently forecasts a high of 40 degrees and rain in the Charleston area, with the potential for icy conditions after 10 p.m. and until 4 a.m. Saturday. At this time, the university does not plan to alter current operations on Friday. Out of an abundance of caution, however, students planning to drive long distances for the weekend may choose to leave early and attend in-person classes virtually on Friday.

As a reminder, when preparing for winter weather conditions or any weather event, review the S.C. Emergency Management Division’s weather guides for guidance.
