Monitoring TS Elsa

By Jenna Johnson | July 7, 2021

Charleston Southern University is closely monitoring weather conditions as a result of Tropical Storm Elsa. Tropical storm conditions are possible tonight, with thunderstorms and winds of up to 35 mph and possible 45 mph gusts. There is a slight chance of tornado watches later this evening.

To ensure the safety of our campus community, the Athletics study hall will be conducted virtually from 6 – 10 p.m. and all evening classes will be dismissed by 8:30 p.m. today.

Based on the latest forecast, CSU will remain on a normal operating schedule tomorrow (July 8). Though rain and winds are not predicted to be any heavier than an average thunderstorm early tomorrow morning, please use caution and do not drive through standing water.

As a reminder, please continue to monitor local weather updates, your CSU email, and the latest BucAlert announcements.
