58 students inducted into Alpha Chi

Alpha Chi held its annual induction ceremony on March 29, 2019, to recognize students for their academic excellence at Charleston Southern University. To qualify for an invitation, students must be in the top 10% of their junior or senior classes. Faculty sponsors, Dr. Maxwell Rollins, associate professor of business and director of graduate programs; Dr. Charles Smedley, associate professor of sociology; and Dr. John Kuykendall, professor of history and department chair, inducted 58students into the CSU chapter with 32 attending the ceremony. The speaker for the induction ceremony was Dr. Jackie Fish, vice president of academic affairs at CSU.  

“Use this experience to know that you can achieve anything you set your mind to,” Fish said in a charge to the inductees.

Alpha Chi, founded in 1922, is a coeducational society whose purpose is to promote academic excellence and exemplary character among college and university students and to honor those who achieve such distinction. Alpha Chi is a general honor society that admits students from all academic disciplines. CSU’s 2019 inductees include:
