Upward Call

If you want your career to have a world-changing impact, without compromising your faith in Christ, this workshop is for you. The content is focused on exploring the three dimensions of DYNAMIC career success – Performance, Image and Exposure. In our workshop, you’ll learn the principles of career success, based on science, psychology and Scripture. You’ll also learn practical tools that you can use starting Monday morning that will change everything.

For an additional $10 you can stay with us for another hour, enjoy lunch and meet other Christian professionals striving to advance their career with faith.  Our guest speaker, Shawn Sommerkamp, will be available to conduct on-the-spot executive coaching as well.

Shawn Sommerkamp is a disciple of Jesus, a motivational speaker and ICF Certified Executive Coach. He upholds the faith by making contact with the prevalent philosophies of career success and shows their foundational structure as Christianity. The result is a transformative approach to career growth as part of our ultimate mission. Using humor and audience participation, he demonstrates how to implement his methods that not only increase individual performance but ultimately influence company culture for Christ.

All proceeds will benefit the Whitfield Center for Christian Leadership.

Epic Bible Study Training

On Saturday, August 12, CSU will hold our next Epic Bible Teacher Training. It will prepare area Bible teachers to teach Lifeway’s Explore the Bible® literature just weeks before the start of a new quarter.1 This training teaches the big picture of that quarter’s biblical book(s) and answers interpretive questions in a balanced manner so that these area Bible teachers can design their own individual lessons with a book’s larger message in mind.

This training time is devoted to understanding and interpreting the whole book. We will not cover classroom management or teaching techniques but will seek to equip teachers to unravel the book’s message.

The remaining schedule for the 2017-18 Epic Bible Teacher Training schedule:

  • Saturday, May 12, 2018 (8 a.m. - 12 p.m.)
